There was probably a limited issue of these bars, of which this seems to be one of only a few that have survived. The gold bar has a small "loaf" appearance as many poured bars do but carries a typical charm of a collectable item. I like the original text, I love the adaptation because it doesn't stray too far from it. The illustration is beautiful and sometimes gross (In a good way, I mean it's a cosmic horror about people turning into fish, maybe don't read it right before a meal or before bed.) Gou Tanabe has been working through many of H.P Lovecraft's more popular or interesting stories and this one is just about as good as the rest. The translation as always is very good throughout with only one or two "Wait, what?" moments which could have come from reading the original text differently. I definitely recommend this book and several of others from Gou Tanabe if you love cosmic horror, manga, or H.P Lovecraft.
