After trying a lot of Amazon matcha brands, I honestly think people expecting this to taste super sweet or creamy might be misunderstanding what traditional Japanese matcha is supposed to taste like. This one has more of that genuine, earthy, slightly umami flavor that I usually experience at Japanese matcha cafes. Mine was fresh, smooth, and produced a really delightful latte. It definitely wasn’t “fishy” like some reviews suggested. I also noticed some people complained about bitterness, but using water that’s too hot can ruin almost any matcha. Once I prepared it correctly, the flavor was balanced and clean. For the price, I actually think it’s a pretty solid everyday ceremonial-style matcha.
