The flat circular saddle has an integrated rubber saddle pad, to prevent damage to the underside of the vehicle when in operation. It also provides extra grip to prevent slippage. Mini Melissa shoes always deliver on cuteness (and comfort). That said, each pair seems to be slightly different in terms of sizing! We ordered a size 2 and found that it was a little bigger than a recent size 2 we'd ordered. Still worth it, just a heads up that this might be a better purchase in person when you can try on!
