Jan Schachter: Short JarBeautifully handcrafted ceramic jar Jan started working in clay when she was 4 years old and has been a full time potter since 1978. I enjoy making pots for everyday use; each is a subtle variation of a form usually created in a series. I am a perfectionist (as much as the process allows) and am constantly in search of the perfect surface and ideal form while striving to create pots that have life and vitality. I love having the opportunity to fire in

This statue looks great in the living room. The sunlight really makes it pop. It is heavy enough that our cat did not knock it over when rubbing on it. Since it only seems to take interest in expensive looking things, I took it as a compliment. And it is true, this piece looks fantastic. The only give away is that when you touch it, it doesn't "feel" expensive. But people (or animals) shouldn't be touching it anyway, so that isn't a problem for me!
