The pad is glued to the squab frame and then needs to be trimmed to follow the outer edge of the frame. The white wadding material is then laid over this edge and softens the edge of the pad before the seat cover is fitted. I'm not sure what I was really expecting, but these pants made me feel like I was in the song zoot suit riot and/or Dick Tracy was trying to find me. They honestly just feel very costume-ish as opposed to being something dressy. I couldn't see myself wearing these to a job interview, which is kind of my standard for what qualifies as "dress clothes." However, they do fit quite well in the waist the and down the leg. I have a wide variety of clothing options, but I even find it difficult to pair anything with these pants.
