The hardware is green painted steel, approximately dating the headband's production from mid 1942 to late 1943. It exhibits third pattern spring clips, which have a fold in the metal's bottom edge. This would be an ideal headband for a helmet liner with either non painted or green painted steel A washers. Provenance Private Collection,
