Blocked and deeply carved wood, the hand has a large hole board in the base though there are no signs of glue or fasteners. Well the original purpose of the head is unknown, it may have been part of a Santos or primitive mannequin. North or Central American, circa late 19th century 10" Width 6" Depth 9"

Seems to be comfortable for the dog, as it is not inhibiting him from running around and playing. I bought the 30 foot length 3/8” diameter version. Light weight, good value for the price.
