Cometic uses stainless steel for increased strength, its ability to rebound and resist corrosion. The outer layers of the gasket are embossed and coated on both sides with a Viton rubber material designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing environments, load conditions and surface finishes. I bought these for a family party for soup. I was nervous they were going to be flimsy and cheap. I was pleasantly surprised how thick and sturdy they are! They were a perfect size for a smaller bowl of soup or chili. We even used them in the microwave for left overs and they held up great! There was no sagging or getting soggy which I was also worried about. They are definitely good quality. They are much better than the Walmart or cheap off brands. I also loved the price. I thought they were a great deal for the quality and quantity. The only con I had was some were hard to pull apart. It was no big deal though. I will definitely buy them again.
